Romanticism (also the Romantic era or the Romantic period) is Western classical music that was initially developed in the period from 1815-1910. While predominantly practiced in Europe in the 19th century, Romantic music possesses stylistic qualities that make it more than a mere geographical or chronological category. Romantic music can be characterized by its expressive and emotional qualities, especially in terms of melody.[1]
